Paul Ryan will hold his first meeting with a foreign leader as speaker Thursday, when Israeli President Rueven Rivlin visits the Wisconsin Republican on Capitol Hill.

Rivlin is in town meeting with President Barack Obama. He attended a White House Hanukkah party Wednesday evening.

Israeli's presidency is a largely symbolic position. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the top figure in the Israeli government.
